Auger is completely independent. Whether it’s writing, production, mixing and artwork, the website, social media, merchandise, releasing and strategies, even the loading of the car and driving to the venue (hence why I so very often forget something at home), it’s all done by myself. However, saying Auger is just me would be a complete injustice. Because Auger is far bigger than that. I’m so grateful to have a team of people around me that support the project in countless ways, from the merchandise stand, to the gig bookings, general management and cookie baking (yes, we have cookie chef). All the hard-work poured in so willingly means I feel I owe it to these wonderful people and to you my audience to produce the best possible music I can. That’s why I’ve taken so long to write and produce this new album, and still continue to do so.

Lots of people have recommended that I do some form of crowdfunding for the album, praising the results of such campaigns both from a financial and marketing standpoint. It’s true I pour every penny I have into this project and quite often leave myself short month to month. So it would make sense to pursue the crowdfunding route, but I can’t bring myself to do it. Partly because I really don’t like asking for help, people have enough adversity to get through without me asking for money,  and partly because I’m already well aware of the massive level of support all of you have given Auger. I’d feel like I’m asking too much. So, I’ve come up with a compromise…

It’s crowdfunding  minus the convoluted platforms, commissions, complex tier systems, and £300 limited edition video chats… heck if you want to chat, just say hello on the livestream every week, no one should have to pay for that! 😅

There is one “tier” and it’s accessible to everyone. All the money will go towards all the processes I outsource: mastering, manufacturing and advertisements; everything else is done in house 🖤

Auger ist völlig unabhängig. Ob es das Schreiben, die Produktion, das Abmischen und das Artwork, die Website, die sozialen Medien, das Merchandise, die Veröffentlichung und die Strategien, sogar das Beladen des Autos und die Fahrt zum Veranstaltungsort (deshalb vergesse ich so oft etwas zu Hause) ist, alles wird von mir selbst gemacht. Zu sagen, dass Auger nur aus mir besteht, wäre jedoch eine große Ungerechtigkeit. Denn Auger ist viel größer als das. Ich bin so dankbar, dass ich ein Team von Leuten um mich herum habe, die das Projekt auf unzählige Arten unterstützen, vom Merchandise-Stand über die Konzertbuchungen bis hin zum allgemeinen Management und dem Backen von Keksen (ja, wir haben einen Kekskoch). All die harte Arbeit, die so bereitwillig hineingesteckt wird, bedeutet, dass ich das Gefühl habe, dass ich es diesen wunderbaren Menschen und euch, meinem Publikum, schuldig bin, die bestmögliche Musik zu produzieren, die ich machen kann. Deshalb habe ich so lange gebraucht, um dieses neue Album zu schreiben und zu produzieren, und ich werde es auch weiterhin tun.

Viele Leute haben mir eine Art Crowdfunding für das Album empfohlen und die Ergebnisse solcher Kampagnen sowohl aus finanzieller als auch aus Marketing-Sicht gelobt. Es stimmt, dass ich jeden Cent, den ich habe, in dieses Projekt stecke und oft von Monat zu Monat zu kurz komme. Es würde also Sinn machen, den Weg des Crowdfunding zu gehen, aber ich kann mich nicht dazu durchringen. Zum einen, weil ich nicht gerne um Hilfe bitte, die Leute haben schon genug Probleme, ohne dass ich um Geld bitten muss, und zum anderen, weil ich mir der enormen Unterstützung, die ihr alle Auger zukommen lasst, schon bewusst bin. Ich hätte das Gefühl, dass ich zu viel verlange. Also habe ich mir einen Kompromiss ausgedacht…

Es ist Crowdfunding ohne die verworrenen Plattformen, die Provisionen, die komplexen Stufensysteme und die auf 300 Pfund limitierten Videochats… aber wenn ihr chatten wollt, sagt einfach jede Woche im Livestream Hallo, dafür sollte niemand bezahlen müssen! 😅

Es gibt eine „Stufe“ und sie ist für jeden zugänglich. Das gesamte Geld wird in alle Prozesse fließen, die ich auslagere: Mastering, Herstellung und Werbung; alles andere wird im Haus gemacht 🖤
